The Rink

The rinks are rectangular with rounded corners and surroundedby the boards. A roughly 1 m (3ft3in) high topped with shatterproof perspex screen protect the crowd. There are 2 standard sizes of hockey rinks. They used primarily in North America is narrower than that used in Olympic competition and in most other national leagues. At each end of the ice, there is a goal consisting of a metal frame and a cloth net. The ice is about 2cm (3/4in) thick and up of 8 to 10 thin layers.

Minimum size ─ 56m long x 26m wide.
